With the proliferation of technical buzzwords these days, it’s likely that you have heard of systems that are “real-time” or “near real-time”. Well, today I will throw my own buzzword (buzz phrase?) into the ring. –“Near real-place.” Just as “near real-time” means that something is reported almost as fast as it happens, near real-place means that something is “almost where it’s supposed to be.” Take the cabinets in this picture for example. They are just about where I want them. They are “near real-place.” Tomorrow, I hope to get them moved that last little bit. Then, of course, they be “Real Place” (some would say “Installed”, but where’s the fun in that?)

To further add to the confusion, there is this… The cabinets have had the finish coat applied and are therefore ”finished”, but they are not yet done. “Done” comes later, after finishing…
